Harper Bode VP of Recruitment Senior Hometown: Orlando, FL Major: International Business Harper is the most selfless and loyal girl I know! It doesn't matter if she has a million different things going on, she will do whatever it takes to help you and be there for you. She is so good at making everyone feel important, loved, and comfortable. WIth so much on her plate, she's still so intentional and makes an effort to get to know people on a genuine level. Harper is also so funny! She's so goofy and witty and she can make you laugh even on the worst days. I've been so blessed to have Harper as a Big, and to look up to her. She's such an amazing example of a real strong woman! -Hannah Lally Harper is one of the absolute best people that I know. She is thoughtful, encouraging, and one of those people that everyone always wants to be around. She has worked so so hard on recruitment and she does it with a smile on her face and an amazing attitude. I couldn't be happier to assist her with recruitment, not only because I know she has put so much effort into this and is so excited for it, but also because I have the privilege of calling her one of my very best friends. She's the greatest and we are so incredibly lucky to have her lead Alpha Chi! Love you Harp! -Julia Kimbrough What is your major/hometown? I was born and raised in good ole “O-Town” (Orlando, Florida)! No, sadly I don't get to go to Disney World all to much (although that would be nice) but I do live about 45 minutes from the beach which has been one of my favorites things about growing up in Florida. I somehow managed to be one of the rare cases of people to stick with the same major all four years, but I’m an International Business Major with a concentration in Spanish and Marketing. Why did you decide to run for VP of Recruitment? Over these past three years, Alpha Chi has given me more than I could imagine: the best support system, the goofiest friends, hysterical memories and some of my deepest friendships. Thank goodness the world works in crazy ways because, I decided to run for assistant recruitment last year. I had the absolute privilege of serving alongside one of my greatest friends and got the opportunity to help show potential new members why this chapter is so special and unique. I am so thankful for that time and so thankful it showed me how passionate I am about Alpha Chi, so with that I decided to for run for this position. What advice would you give to someone going through recruitment? Just breathe. Take a depth breath, have fun and be nothing but yourself. It’s so easy to get caught up in everything that comes along with this week but don't forget to pause and take a moment to take everything in. I wanted to find the place that made me feel at home and comfortable as myself, and for me that was and will always be Alpha Chi. This is one of the most fun and exciting weeks and you are given such a great opportunity to make so many friends. Invest in the conversations and get to know the girls you’re talking to- because I can speak for everyone when I say they couldn’t be more excited to meet YOU! What is the best part about your position? Hanging out with 250 of the greatest people for about two weeks straight!!! Over these past 8 months I have gotten know and love how different and unique each Alpha Chi is. There is nothing more rewarding than serving and working alongside the girls that have given me so much more than just these past three years of college. These two weeks are full of hard work (and a whole lot of laughing and dancing!) and make for the best build up to one of the most exciting weeks of the year. Alpha Chi has been the coolest thing to watch evolve and change over the past three years and just like anything with age, it just gets better and better! I couldn’t be more excited to get to know the new members and create memories that will last longer than my time at Auburn. If your life was a song, what would it be? ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ by Whitney Houston, I love to dance! Although I was not graced with the coordination of a real trained dancer, maaaan am I always down to dance. This song always gets me in the mood. Some of my favorite memories have been dancing to this song in between recruitment parties last year or in my house with the 4 Alpha Chi girls I live with. (Probably while embarrassing myself in front of the people who live across the street from us!) But none the less it’s my favorite song! If you could have a superpower for a day, what would it be? I wish I could fly because I always wish I could be everywhere at once!! There are so many fun things to do in Auburn and so many people to see, father time just doesn't seem to be on my side. Ha! If you had to order take-out right now, what would you get? Gaahh I can get down with some good take out! My family and I love to try new and different foods, so my answer might sound a little interesting, but Indian food is my jam!! WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU SO SOON! #GOLDENFORAXO
