Victoria Hughes VP of Facility Operations Sophomore Hometown: Montgomery, AL Major: Communication What things have you learned since being on exec? I have learned how to balance commitments better so that I can get everything done. What are you most looking forward to next semester? I am looking forward to living on the hall with all of my friends and having endless closets to borrow outfits from!! How has Alpha Chi affected your college experience? Alpha Chi has affected my college experience by giving me so many new friends and meeting so many new people. What is your favorite Alpha Chi event and why? One of my favorite Alpha Chi events so far has been spring formal! Everyone says it's like college prom, except for my high school prom we wore short dresses, so it was fun to dress up in a long dress and dance the night away with friends! I also really liked participating in Greek Sing and getting to know people better through that. I love to dance around and hang with friends, so it was the perfect combination of the two! What activities were you involved in outside of Alpha Chi freshman year? Two main things I was involved with outside of Alpha Chi were Freshman Leadership Program "All for Auburn," and my job at Pure Barre Auburn. FLP was so cool because we got to work with the former Miss Auburn, Madison Rolling, and her platform "Clothing for Confidence" which makes sure that kids have a new outfit that makes them feel confident for the first day of school. We collected clothes all year and then ended the year with a shopping day! I also loved working at Pure Barre because I worked at the Montgomery location in high school and then got to continue that here at Auburn. Pure Barre combines my love of working out and my love of getting to know people into one. One of my favorite events is when we had a Pure Barre class at chapter where I got to show everyone what Pure Barre is and what I do, so they would understand why I love it so much.! What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
This spring break when I went out to Utah and to Arches National Park was probably the most adventurous thing I've done. I had never really done any hiking before and we hiked for two straight days there. We had to climb up some steep rocks and jump from rock to rock, but it resulted in one of the coolest, prettiest views I've ever seen. My trip to Spain senior year was also an adventure as we had tons of free time and had to figure our way around all while speaking Spanish! We had to figure out how to order our food and ask for directions without our teachers being there to help us. Those are probably the two most adventurous things I've done!
