Lauren Downes VP of Philanthropy Sophomore Hometown: Cumming, GA Major: Communication Disorders Why did you decide to run for VP of Philanthropy? I ran for the position because of the need I saw to bring more light to Domestic Violence. After serving as the Assistant Philanthropy Chair last year I knew I wanted to take on the full position this year and find more ways to start the conversation of Domestic Violence or any form of power-based violence on Auburn’s campus. What is your favorite Philanthropy event we do? These Hands “Donut” Hurt! What has been your most favorite thing about this job? Getting to hear from students and sorority members outside of Alpha Chi and how our efforts are having a real world impact on the campus. This past month we handed out baggies of chocolate containing facts about Healthy Relationships and what they should look like. I heard from many students how this simple act started a conversation in their class or with their friends and it made me feel like our Chapter was having a big impact in a little way. If you could travel anywhere where would it be? New Zealand! What do you like to do for fun? Pile in the car with all my friends and go somewhere for food (preferably Island Wing Company or Sonic! "Lauren is so real and dedicated to giving her best at anything she commits herself to." -Macy Morgan
