Abby Jane Bradford President Senior Hometown: Winfield, AL Major: Communication Minor: Nonprofit Studies What is your favorite thing about serving as Epsilon Zeta's president? My favorite thing about being President is just the honor in itself of leading this amazing group of women we have in Alpha Chi! I’m so thankful to play a part in bringing all of our uniquely different women together in one place for friendship and fellowship. It’s been such a fun experience so far, and I absolutely love every second! It's the biggest privilege to be able to serve these ladies! What are you most looking forward to in the fall? This fall I am most looking forward to meeting our new members! After serving as New Member Educator last year, the incoming new members of Alpha Chi hold a very special place in my heart! I love that entirely new adventure they get to experience and I can’t wait to welcome the new gals into our sweet sisterhood! We just have so many exciting things to look forward to this upcoming fall semester! Who is your biggest inspiration? My biggest inspiration is definitely my oldest sister Rebekah. She is the smartest, kindest, most humble person I have ever known. She is by far my best friend and biggest mentor. I am inspired by her drive and dedication to pursue anything she sets her mind to! Even though she was a majorette, Alpha Chi, and Honors Student at the University of Alabama--she was my biggest cheerleader when I made the decision to attend Auburn University. God’s love is so evident in her and she has impacted my life more than she knows! I just hope to be half the woman she has grown to be! What is your favorite memory from Alpha Chi? My favorite memory from Alpha Chi most definitely has to be the Junior Cruise my pledge class went on this past spring break! We had THE BEST time just goofing around and spending time together for an entire week cruising to the Bahamas! We shared so many laughs, a thousand random dance parties, one too many karaoke concerts, a bottle of aloe vera, an ice-cold snorkeling experience, and an embarrassing amount of trips to the all you can eat buffet! We all grew so much closer together and I am so thankful for such an amazing group of friends! ILYSM PC14! What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation are still pretty undecided. All I know is that whatever I do, I want to be able to serve those less fortunate than I am. I have a passion for helping others and I’d love the opportunity to do international mission work after graduation! I know the Lord has a bigger plan for me than I could ever come up with myself. I’m keeping a very open mind and am excited to see what He has in store for my future!

Harper Bode VP of Recruitment Senior Hometown: Orlando, FL Major: International Business Harper is the most selfless and loyal girl I know! It doesn't matter if she has a million different things going on, she will do whatever it takes to help you and be there for you. She is so good at making everyone feel important, loved, and comfortable. WIth so much on her plate, she's still so intentional and makes an effort to get to know people on a genuine level. Harper is also so funny! She's so goofy and witty and she can make you laugh even on the worst days. I've been so blessed to have Harper as a Big, and to look up to her. She's such an amazing example of a real strong woman! -Hannah Lally Harper is one of the absolute best people that I know. She is thoughtful, encouraging, and one of those people that everyone always wants to be around. She has worked so so hard on recruitment and she does it with a smile on her face and an amazing attitude. I couldn't be happier to assist her with recruitment, not only because I know she has put so much effort into this and is so excited for it, but also because I have the privilege of calling her one of my very best friends. She's the greatest and we are so incredibly lucky to have her lead Alpha Chi! Love you Harp! -Julia Kimbrough What is your major/hometown? I was born and raised in good ole “O-Town” (Orlando, Florida)! No, sadly I don't get to go to Disney World all to much (although that would be nice) but I do live about 45 minutes from the beach which has been one of my favorites things about growing up in Florida. I somehow managed to be one of the rare cases of people to stick with the same major all four years, but I’m an International Business Major with a concentration in Spanish and Marketing. Why did you decide to run for VP of Recruitment? Over these past three years, Alpha Chi has given me more than I could imagine: the best support system, the goofiest friends, hysterical memories and some of my deepest friendships. Thank goodness the world works in crazy ways because, I decided to run for assistant recruitment last year. I had the absolute privilege of serving alongside one of my greatest friends and got the opportunity to help show potential new members why this chapter is so special and unique. I am so thankful for that time and so thankful it showed me how passionate I am about Alpha Chi, so with that I decided to for run for this position. What advice would you give to someone going through recruitment? Just breathe. Take a depth breath, have fun and be nothing but yourself. It’s so easy to get caught up in everything that comes along with this week but don't forget to pause and take a moment to take everything in. I wanted to find the place that made me feel at home and comfortable as myself, and for me that was and will always be Alpha Chi. This is one of the most fun and exciting weeks and you are given such a great opportunity to make so many friends. Invest in the conversations and get to know the girls you’re talking to- because I can speak for everyone when I say they couldn’t be more excited to meet YOU! What is the best part about your position? Hanging out with 250 of the greatest people for about two weeks straight!!! Over these past 8 months I have gotten know and love how different and unique each Alpha Chi is. There is nothing more rewarding than serving and working alongside the girls that have given me so much more than just these past three years of college. These two weeks are full of hard work (and a whole lot of laughing and dancing!) and make for the best build up to one of the most exciting weeks of the year. Alpha Chi has been the coolest thing to watch evolve and change over the past three years and just like anything with age, it just gets better and better! I couldn’t be more excited to get to know the new members and create memories that will last longer than my time at Auburn. If your life was a song, what would it be? ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ by Whitney Houston, I love to dance! Although I was not graced with the coordination of a real trained dancer, maaaan am I always down to dance. This song always gets me in the mood. Some of my favorite memories have been dancing to this song in between recruitment parties last year or in my house with the 4 Alpha Chi girls I live with. (Probably while embarrassing myself in front of the people who live across the street from us!) But none the less it’s my favorite song! If you could have a superpower for a day, what would it be? I wish I could fly because I always wish I could be everywhere at once!! There are so many fun things to do in Auburn and so many people to see, father time just doesn't seem to be on my side. Ha! If you had to order take-out right now, what would you get? Gaahh I can get down with some good take out! My family and I love to try new and different foods, so my answer might sound a little interesting, but Indian food is my jam!! WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU SO SOON! #GOLDENFORAXO
Cassady Cabelka VP of Finance (Accounts Payable) Junior Hometown: Auburn,AL Major: Accounting What exactly do you do in your position? I oversee the budget and distribute checks as needed. I make sure Alpha Chi is in good financial heath and handle aspects of banking and record keeping! What was your favorite memory on the Exec retreat? My favorite memory on Exec retreat would definitely be the making of our music video. We each dressed up and did silly things that coordinated with our positions. Seriously have never laughed so hard and I love how we all became so close in two short days! Why did you choose Alpha Chi? I love when I am asked this question because I could talk about Alpha Chi all day. I chose Alpha Chi Omega because every time I was in an Alpha Chi party during rush I didn't want to leave. The conversations I had in stood out from all the others and I knew from the first day of recruitment that I wanted to be an Alpha Chi Omega! Still to this day I am so happy with my decision. Alpha Chi has brought me my best friends for life and I am so thankful for that! What are you most looking forward to in your Junior year? I am looking forward to coming home from class to a house full of four of my best friends! We are so excited to all finally get to live together for our last two years of college! What is your secret talent?
I would say that my secret talent would be that I can eat an entire lemon without making a sour face. I actually enjoy eating them! In fact, I eat them so often that I don't think twice about it anymore until I get confused looks from people and then I have to explain myself! Victoria Hughes VP of Facility Operations Sophomore Hometown: Montgomery, AL Major: Communication What things have you learned since being on exec? I have learned how to balance commitments better so that I can get everything done. What are you most looking forward to next semester? I am looking forward to living on the hall with all of my friends and having endless closets to borrow outfits from!! How has Alpha Chi affected your college experience? Alpha Chi has affected my college experience by giving me so many new friends and meeting so many new people. What is your favorite Alpha Chi event and why? One of my favorite Alpha Chi events so far has been spring formal! Everyone says it's like college prom, except for my high school prom we wore short dresses, so it was fun to dress up in a long dress and dance the night away with friends! I also really liked participating in Greek Sing and getting to know people better through that. I love to dance around and hang with friends, so it was the perfect combination of the two! What activities were you involved in outside of Alpha Chi freshman year? Two main things I was involved with outside of Alpha Chi were Freshman Leadership Program "All for Auburn," and my job at Pure Barre Auburn. FLP was so cool because we got to work with the former Miss Auburn, Madison Rolling, and her platform "Clothing for Confidence" which makes sure that kids have a new outfit that makes them feel confident for the first day of school. We collected clothes all year and then ended the year with a shopping day! I also loved working at Pure Barre because I worked at the Montgomery location in high school and then got to continue that here at Auburn. Pure Barre combines my love of working out and my love of getting to know people into one. One of my favorite events is when we had a Pure Barre class at chapter where I got to show everyone what Pure Barre is and what I do, so they would understand why I love it so much.! What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
This spring break when I went out to Utah and to Arches National Park was probably the most adventurous thing I've done. I had never really done any hiking before and we hiked for two straight days there. We had to climb up some steep rocks and jump from rock to rock, but it resulted in one of the coolest, prettiest views I've ever seen. My trip to Spain senior year was also an adventure as we had tons of free time and had to figure our way around all while speaking Spanish! We had to figure out how to order our food and ask for directions without our teachers being there to help us. Those are probably the two most adventurous things I've done! Colleen Riordan VP of Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation Junior Hometown: Atlanta, GA Major: Psychology What is your favorite thing about being on exec? I love being on our executive board because I love serving the chapter. This is my second year on exec, and over the last 2 years it has allowed me to better understand how a chapter runs and all the work it takes. Our chapter is the most important thing to me and serving on exec is my way of showing my love and appreciation for Alpha Chi Omega. What is the most rewarding part of your position, VP Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation? Before I ran for this position, I spent months coming up with ideas and ways to make this position more accessible to our members. It is often looked at as boring because of ritual, (although I find ritual interesting!), but my goal is to show that it is so much more than ritual and to really expand on the fraternity appreciation aspect. One of the most rewarding parts of this position is when I can show people the unique parts of our history and help them enjoy the activities we do. I also get joy from the little things such as everyone remembering the password and their interest in learning more about Alpha Chi. I have so much passion for this position and I cannot wait to teach our new members about it in the fall and continue to educate the chapter. Why did you decide to run for Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation? Last year I was VP Facility Operations and I loved being on exec and knew that I wanted to pursue another exec position, but I did not know which one. It was not until I was a Page at our national convention this past summer that I decided to run for VP Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation. I saw the love for Alpha Chi Omega that every person there had and I wanted to bring that back to our chapter. What are some of the interesting facts you have learned since being in your position? I love to look through our history and timeline on our national website which, is where I have learned many interesting pieces of our history. I have learned a lot about the service projects that Alpha Chi Omega has done throughout our history. One fact I find interesting is that following World War I, the fraternity provided financial support for more than 100 French orphans. I also enjoy being able to understand the meaning behind our rituals because it helps me to understand our core values. If you could meet any Alpha Chi Omega who would it be and why? My dream is to meet Condoleezza Rice. In fourth grade, my mom, who is also an Alpha Chi, suggested I do my school project on Condoleezza and ever since then I have wanted to meet her. She is intelligent, classy, diplomatic and a real strong woman, and I would love to get to know her. Who is a Real Strong Woman that you look up to?
My whole life I have been surrounded with real strong women, but the one I have always looked up to is my mom. I often describe her as “the ultimate Alpha Chi”, but she is too humble to admit it. It was not until I became an Alpha Chi Omega that I realized how much of an influence this organization has had on her life, and how many lyres we have around our house. She handles a busy career with diplomacy and has always supported my goals and encouraged me to grow as an individual. At convention this past summer, she was given the Award of Achievement which honored her career achievements and had us both fighting back tears. I strive to be as much of an Alpha Chi Omega as she is and make her proud. Chandler Cahoon VP of Risk Management Senior Hometown: Vestavia Hills, AL Major: Communication Minors: Nonprofit and Philanthropy Studies and Hunger Studies What have you learned since being on exec these past two years? More than anything I have learned the joy that comes from truly serving others without expecting anything in return. In both of the positions I have held through Alpha Chi (Panhellenic Delegate and Risk Management), I have had countless opportunities to serve those around me both in our own sorority and the other 17 on this campus, through donations, toy drives, or even something as simple as giving a girl Advil at an event because she had a headache. I am a natural problem solver and being able to meet a need no matter how small is satisfying and one of my favorite things to do. Why are you passionate about your position? My position is not necessarily one that people get pumped to run for, so my passion for it was a learned one. When I was asked to run for Risk, all I knew about the position was that it dealt with pizza, socials, and signing in. This position has transformed into so much more, and has given me cool opportunities to work with not only the exec board but different members of our chapter on a close basis. Because my position exists, people are safer at our events, which allows them to enjoy themselves. My position allows people to have fun, so that is a pretty good reason to be passionate about it, I'd say. What's the most rewarding part? The most rewarding part is not one that is directly related to my own position but has been so sweet to receive. This gift is the encouragement of others. As Risk Management, I have had to introduce a few new policies to the chapter, which is a very nerve-racking situation to be put in as a college student addressing her peers. However, the people who have shown love and encouragement despite the learning process have been so much louder than any other voices being raised. It truly has been a learning experience seeing what works for our chapter and what does not work, but people have gone above and beyond to reach out to me and remind me that I am loved, tell me that they appreciate me, and voice their support of my hard work. This is not something that I deserve, but a sweet gift from the Lord. What is your favorite fun fact about Alpha Chi? Our colors are scarlett red and olive green, AKA red and green. These are also Christmas colors, which also happens to be my birthday. So like was I born an AXO or what? If you could live anywhere where would it be and why? I get asked this question a lot, especially as a rising senior. I'm honestly not quite sure. I will be more than happy to go wherever I feel like the Lord desires for me to be! I love big cities, London is my favorite specifically, but I also do think it would be cool to live in a small town where everyone knows each other like Stars Hollow (from Gilmore Girls), so who knows. If you could choose a superlative for yourself, what would it be?
I hate choosing these things, so I asked my friends, Abby Reid and Barrett Harris, to choose one. They said,"The Most Intentional Encourager," because I am apparently intentional and the best encourager. Bailey Burns VP of New Member Education Junior Hometown: Birmingham, AL Major: Early Childhood Education What is the most exciting thing about being VP of New Member Education AKA "Mom"? The most exciting thing about being mom is all of the new faces I get to meet and hang out with! I also cant wait to teach all of the new members everything I love about Alpha Chi! Why were you drawn to this role? I was drawn to this position because I have a heart for teaching and forming relationships with others. I love to meet new people and I want to serve others. What was one of your favorite experiences or memories about your "Mom" ? My favorite experience with my “mom” as a freshman was when our VP of New Member Education, Peyton, was really open and real with us at the new member meetings. It made me feel like she was really looking out for us. What do you hope to bring to the new freshmen coming in the fall? I hope that I can bring the new members comfort and peace as they enter their first semester in college. I want them to be able to learn the importance of this chapter, but to also feel at home. What is your favorite activity in Auburn? My favorite activity in Auburn is really just being able to hang out with people at any given time. That is the beauty of Auburn having a “small town feel” to it. Everyone is close and there are so many places to hang out! What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a second or third grade teacher in Charleston, SC. That is so specific, but it has always been a dream! As we transition into the summer, we'd love to share some highlights from our spring semester! Pizza Pie with Alpha Chi Alpha Chi supports Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention as our national philanthropy. Each semester, our VP of Philanthropy and her team work hard to plan events to raise money for our cause. For the first time this year, we held Pizza Pie with Alpha Chi! Guests could enjoy all-you-can-eat pizza and drinks! All profits benefitted the Domestic Violence Intervention Center in Opelika. We had a great turn out and raised close to $8,000 for the DVIC! Socials and Formal This semester we enjoyed our War Damn America, Alpha Heartbreakers, St. Patrick's Day, Rhyme Without Reason and Rave socials. This year's Red Carnation ball was special because we celebrated Epsilon Zeta's 50th year at Auburn with current members and alumni! Six Flags Sisterhood Day Greek Sing We are so proud of our Greek Sing dancers for winning third place in this year's competition! "Alpha Spice" was incredible! Congratulations to our choreographers, Kate Dorsten and Shelby Andrews, for all of their hard work in creating this fabulous dance! Sisterhood Graduation We are so proud of all our Alpha Chi graduates of 2017! We can't wait to see all the things they accomplish as they take their next big step! We will miss them all dearly and cherish their legacy in our chapter. We hope everyone has a wonderful summer, and we cannot wait to see you all back for #aurec17!
