Our HistoryAlpha Chi Omega was founded as a musical sorority in 1885 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Originally founded as a society for the music students at DePauw, Alpha Chi has since grown to 135 chapters all over the United States. The official colors are scarlet red and olive green, the official symbol of Alpha Chi is a Lyre, and our flower is a red carnation.
The Epsilon Zeta chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was founded at Auburn University on February 16, 1967. |
Our GoalsThe motto of Alpha Chi Omega is real, strong women. At Epsilon Zeta we encourage our members to live this out through excellence in the classroom, leadership on campus, and through their personal goals and endeavors. Here we are all about helping our members reach their potential and giving them the leadership skills they need to make their dreams a reality. Sisterhood to us means that as soon as our members walk through our doors as freshmen they are immediately surrounded by 260+ of the best and most uplifting girls on campus. Those who will support them in the hard times, cheer them on through the good times, and never stop loving each other. We not only want our girls to be successful here at Auburn, but we want them to leave their collegiate time with the skills and education they need to make a difference in the lives of those around them at every point in their life.

The Alpha Chi Omega SymphonyTo see beauty even in the common things of life,
to shed the light of love and friendship round me; to keep my life in tune with the world that I shall make no discords in the harmony of life; to strike on the lyre of the universe only the notes of happiness, of joy, of peace; to appreciate every little service rendered; to see and appreciate all that is noble in another, be her badge what it may; and to let my lyre send forth the chords of love, unselfishness, sincerity. This is to be my symphony. CELIA MCCLURE Together let us seek the heightsSince founding in 1885, Alpha Chi Omega has held the values of character, leadership, financial responsibility, academic interests, and personal development among all of our members. Striving to see the beauty in all of our endeavors, we find our joy in "seeking the heights" and rest in the fact that we represent something greater than ourselves.
